Luna Cohen

Bb and I went to a concert tonight by Luna Cohen, a Brazilian singer, in the new cultural centre in El Born. We enjoyed it, but I found it a bit disconcerting that she spoke in Catalan when she wasn't singing. Even more disconcerting was when she sang a song in Catalan in bossa nova style - too different languages and cultures for me to feel comfortable! Still, enjoyable all the same as she had a good voice, but it lost the magic for me of going to a performance in a different language and being transformed emotionally to that world.
