Reunited

It's been over 18months since these three were last together. Yet within a few minutes, only the time it took them to bond over a packet of party rings in fact, it was like they'd never been apart. For the first time, they came to our territory. Katie had planned a whole list of activities to do with Lyra and Ellie. Picnicking and climbing in the woods was very top of her list. It was the absolute perfect choice. They were in absolute heaven. They scrambled up mud banks- to slide back down again. They swung from branches and rope swings. They climbed logs, threw leaves, played in dens and a wigwam, ran up and down hills. They hunted the gruffalo, Rapunzel and the bear hunt bear. It was wonderful. Utterly wonderful. They were filthy, untidy, windswept, sunkissed and thoroughly delighted about it all. Ice cream ended the day perfectly. Katie cried a bit as we set off home. Quite a bit.
