Beeley Moor
Today didn't go to plan as I cancelled my usual golf to go searching a kingfisher. Had an early start only to find the stream was in flood after yesterdays rain and no chance of kingfisher shots. On my return home I passed the mill and saw a blipper so stopped for a chat, only to find out later that the peregrine came in shortly after with a juvenile kingfisher as prey. Not the one I was looking for I hasten to add but bad news all the same.
Later in the day we took a ride over to Baslow as the weather was better than forecast and came back through the lanes over Beeley Moor. It was a delight to see with the heather in flower even though the best of the weather had passed by the time I took this shot.
