Chilled out
They're watching pizza's being deep fried in Italy on Saturday Kitchen. I remember italians beign shocked at me suggesting Pizza could be deep fried... (maybe because I also wanted it battered)
Hard night with Ivy last night- you know how you sometimes just cannot sleep so you thrash about and try umpteen different positions? She was in one of those moods. At about 1am I brought her into our bed and she proceeded to kick everyone in the head (including herself) at least once with her wriggling. Euan took her next door after a bit and they dozed in a chair together.
I spent the morning down the allotment doing some weeding- and generally admiring my biggest spaghetti squash that is now longer than my foot. I wonder what it would fetch on the squash black market. Brought home our first polytunnel tomatoes- a delicious variety called Tigerella. Ivy very much approved.
Right before I left the house- it was discovered that Ivy had helped herself to Euan's espresso, at first we thought her nappy had leaked but it turned out to be spilled coffee. I'm documenting this here- because I often include my parenting failures, and Euan often gets off lightly. I didn't stick around to find out what happens when a 10 month old has espresso...
Ivy chatted to our neighbour over the garden fence in the afternoon- she was definitily trying to communicate something important- and was vaguly pointing around and saying 'nom nom'. We think she associates the garden with tastey food (altough theres no strawberries, or currants left and we're waiting for the second blueberry bush to crop- so she'll have to wait a bit)
Dinner was roast chicken and potatoes from the allotment. Ivy's sharp little teeth make light work of chicken. She sunk her teeth in whilst having a feed this afternoon, so I put her on the ground and Euan and I tried to look stern and say 'no' whilst Ivy grabbed a book and tried to get either of us to read it to her.
