Our indoor flower, photographed outdoors.
Today was a day at home - rain was forecast so painting the boat was out, but there were lots of things to do here anyway.
In the event the rain never turned up so I managed to cut ALL the 3000 square meters of the grass. It really needed it!.
Jan scraped and painted, fixing the door frame around the newly painted front door to the Red House, and the white details on the door.
We both scraped a window that will be painted soon.
Of course after our Tai Chi course we started the day with our warm-up/flexibility exercises and a long slow round of Tai Chi, which felt really good.
The only problem was what to blip! A piece of mown grass is not very dramatic! Ah, the flower of course! A good while back Claireseyes gave us a cactus plant and promised us that eventually it would flower. We followed the instructions and it grew much bigger but no flower. And then a week or two back we were passing by and suddenly saw the promised flower had appeared. That'll make a good blip on a quiet day I thought and today is the day! (Many thanks ClairesEyes!)
And thanks for the name too Claire - It's an urn plant, Aechmea fasciata.
