This is the eastern coastal strip adjacent to a saltmarsh/dune and freshwater nature reserve on the Lincolnshire coast, not far from Louth.
The reserve is noted, amongst other things, for its tremendous orchid display in springtime, lots of butterflies and hoverflies, and a substantial resident population of Natterjack toads.
This warning sign marks the perimeter of the coastal wetland and indicates its longtime use as an RAF bombing and practice firing range.
This is typical of the military use of many attractive areas around the British coast.
It does rather detract from the attractiveness of a wilderness area in my opinion.
