And the Jowett Javlin Jupiter car which they drove , and won 1st place in the Le Mans International 24 hour Sports Car Race, in the one and a half litre class.
It broke the class record at an average speed for the whole 12 hour race of 75.8 m.p.h.
The first time the Jupiter had entered the race. ( I think this was in 1950)
What a wonderful car!
How it shined in the sunshine.

Today was the Jowett owners club reunion rally at the Bradford Industrial Museum, and we went along to take a look.
What a wonderful collection of these classic cars. All made in Bradford, and so beautifully looked after by their owners.

We also had a look round the museum, which I haven't done for many years.
Must be getting old as some of the exhibits are of things I remember, like the last trolley bus!!

What a great day out, and in nice sunny weather too.
Not sure what Hurricane Bertha is going to throw at us tomorrow!!
