At the Oxford Saturday market-- August '14
Here is one scene from the Saturday Oxford, NY market. Alas, I could not capture the entire hug of activity, including the woman playing a program of "Nostalgia" on her electric piano at the bandstand.
Lot of summer squash. bush beans, greens of all kinds, and wonderful fresh farm eggs. I bought a dozen of the most colourful (blue-green, cream, brown and spotted) for $3. Oh, yum!
It was hard to decide who or what to feature today but this beautiful woman, Angelique, is a favourite of mine. I used to buy eggs from her but now her chickens are laying all over her garden and yard. She finds one egg a day, if that.
Today she was demonstrating the making of saurkraut. the hats on the stand are her homemade ones also. The splashing green fountain in the back just added further lively feeling to the morning.
