Chasing Manta Rays... and being chased by them!

With 6ft swell crashing against the nearby vertical cliffs, conditions we pretty rough, but the captain said 'jump' and we leaped over the side of the boat in search for the big manta rays. Swallowing gallons of sea water down our snorkels was hardly the aim of the day, but then a few manta rays came into shot. It was pretty spectacular watching them glide effortlessly through the water, until they turn on you. Open mouthed and trailing swinging tail, it headed my way at speed. I was pretty bloody scared and that was probably the quickest I've swam in a long time!
