Kilmartin Glen

Rain overnight, rain in the morning. We drove north in the rain to a wet Tarbert for refreshments. Then onwards to Kilmartin Glen where the rain stopped and the sun appeared. This glen contains a remarkable concentration of ancient neolithic and bronze age sites including a handful of massive chambered cairns. One of them has been preserved with an access hatch and associated spider webs.

Whilst walking by the Martin Burn, Mrs AB and the kids spotted an otter floating down the river with a fish (a big flappy green one) in its mouth.

We climbed to the summit of Dunadd to stand in the coronation footprint of Scottish kings.
