Best part of my day

Really. My ice cream date to Snow Goose with my son and nieces was just what I needed on an otherwise pretty crappy day. I love these kiddos with all my heart. Funny, polite, beautiful and just a joy to hang out with.

Got to talk to Isaac's mom and sister twice today after last night's hurricane. They are safe! Lots of damage done to their house and property, but we are so happy they are well. Probably the biggest loss being their roof, they also have downed trees all over their property, 2 of them narrowly missing Monica's house and the laundry room. This morning, Isaac's mom was just mentally and physically exhausted, but this afternoon she was in better spirits and had fashioned a temporary roof. If there is anything I can say about his mother, it's that she is a very hard worker and will not give up. Now, we hope and pray the next storm coming in two days, Julio, weakens or misses the islands altogether. Sunday will be our day to decide whether we are able to stick to our original plans to visit on Tuesday.
