A tuckered Cowboy

My go to guy for a later night blip! He's had a good day...but he's been a tad naughty about coming in from the back yard again when called. He likes to lie in his big dirt holes he's dug where it is cool. The past couple days I've put him on a retractable leash when I let him out back....only until he comes in better:) He already had his early morning romp at the park off leash with Sadie and me! He loves to be a game player and this is just what he does....on the other hand, Sadie is very food orientate and will come in quickly from out back every hopeful for a "snack".

How It Is With Us, And How It Is With Them poem by Mary Oliver from her book Dog Songs:

We become religious
then we turn from it,
then we are in need and maybe we turn back.
WE turn to making money,
then we turn to the moral life,
then we think about money again.

We meet wonderful people, but lose them
in our busyness.
We're,as the saying goes, all over the place.
Steadfastness, it seems,
is more about dogs than about us.
One of the reasons we love them so much.
