220/365 Previously Owned Books

I've developed an affinity for used books. There's something about their slightly scuffed exteriors that I find endearing. Handwritten "to" and " from" notes make me wonder why a person would ever give away, or worse sell, a book that someone took the time to personalize. I feel an affront in the name of the giver. But the best is finding a book with marginalia! I would never consider writing in a book but oh how I love to read and contemplate the scribbled thoughts of others.
Stepping into the used book room at Barnes and Noble, time loses all meaning for me.
