FIG NEWTON COOKIES HOME-MADE

like my grand-mother I am standing in the kitchen and try to figure out what to do with all that fresh fruit, in my case figs. She had all the local fruit from our garden to deal with and made jams and canned, and so on.
So, I never thought I would do that in the heat of the summer as well, when I was a little girl we just went swimming and came home to sample it all. Now I am a grand-ma too, but she did not play single tennis twice a week like I do. And I dress a little bit different. She was wearing white and blue shoes, matching purse and white gloves and a little blue suit with a skirt and had a perm... like a lady from the fifties.
