Snapshots of rural France

Caught out...

...by the giant seagull in Folkestone harbour carpark

you can see behind this giant seagull, a bulldozer. The place is a demolition site. We were tempted in the middle of a rainstorm to stop and park in this rather rocky carpark for 2 hours for a pound (as the sign said). So after about an hour, we decided to leave (the weather had improved) and discovered that anything higher than a transit (our van is a semi hi top) would be charged 13£ for any part of the day up to 24 hours. So in effect this bloody seagull cost us 13£. Not a great start to the day
