Atmosphere

It was a bright sunny morning but this afternoon a large mass of rain arrived (perhaps the tail end of Hurricane Bertha which is also due to affect us on Sunday). As you can see, the hillsides are looking rather steamy as the rain evaporates back into the atmosphere. I love the way the seasons and the weather change the atmopshere of the landscape so dramatically. Only a few weeks ago I was photographing a large red sun disapearing behind these hills. If you look carefully you can see a kestrel hunting for prey in the foreground of this photograph.
