friday fish...

...and the van was the hot stopping off place for everything from prawns to pippies, barramundi to bugs and snapper to salmon.

It (and I'm sure still the original!) has been parking under this tree on Fridays and Saturdays since we have lived here in the hills, and that is now 30 years.
Most of the fish is snap frozen and perfect for tucking away in the freezer for a bit of a treat.
Today that treat was a bag of Fremantle sardine fillets waiting for the grill and a simple dressing of olive oil, fennel fronds and lemon juice.
