Sketch Outing - Day 4
A visit to the river area of Wakefield yesterday for our sketching outing. We met up in the cafe at The Hepworth for coffee then had a walk though the riverside buildings (old and new) to reach the Flood Lock Basin. There were so many exciting plans for this area of the river before the economic crisis hit and now many of the offices are empty and no one has taken up the leases on the restaurants. There are quite a few changes since I used to bring teachers and children to this area as part of visits to the Urban Studies Centre.
After lunch - time to browse the galleries and an opportunity to take a few photos. For me a chance to stand and sketch the neglected John Hurst feed building and the barges outside.
