Our Journey is a process

River Rafting is going to the dogs!

The sun came out and I escaped for a few hours. I took a hike along the Truckee River between Squaw Valley and Tahoe City. My goal was to hike the entire 10 mile route, but the weather quickly turned with cold rain, lightning and thunder, so I turned around and headed back to the car. At least I got a 4 mile hike in.

It was fun watching people float by on the myriad of rafts, inner tubes and kayaks. In Tahoe City, you can rent a raft and float down the river about 8 miles to a pull out before the rapids. There, a bus waits for you and takes you back to Tahoe City. It is a popular tourist attraction.

But I struck by this family as they floated past. Not only did this couple have their two children with them, but they also had three Malamutes with them, including one who had his own raft! At least the kids had some form of flotation device, but the poor dogs had none.

Hope you all have a lovely Friday and a wonderful weekend.
