F2

Today we did the WWI battleship Markgraf in the morning and the WWII Escort vessel F2 in the afternoon.

There's quite a contrast between them.

The Markgraff; 174m long, with a beam of 29m and displaced 25388 tons. She had a top speed of 21 knots. Guns: 10 x 30.5cm (12ins: 50 cal: twin turrets); 14 x 15cm (5.9ins: 45 cal: single mountings); 6 x 8.8cm (3.5ins: 45 cal: single mountings); 2 x 8.8cm AA (3.5ins: 45 cal: single mountings); 5 x 50cm (19.7ins) torpedo tubes. Markgraf lies in 45m of water.

The F2; 81m long, with a beam of 10m and displaced 756 tons. She had a top speed of 28knots. Guns: 2 x 105mm deck mountings; 4 x 37mm AA (removed in 1938/9); 4 x 20mm AA F2 lies in 16m of water.

This is my buddy A on the F2, with some of the local marine life.
