Times Of My Life

By CarolB

The nights are fair drawin' in ...

It was only about 10.20 pm when I snapped the front garden, with Rocky keeping a close eye on the neighbours cat hiding under their car. It was only a few weeks ago that we were going out for walks at 11 o'clock, and it was like daylight.

I do hate it as the days get shorter, I'd be happy never to have to put an electric light on, or to have to draw the curtains. And my favourite gardening time is always in the evening when it is not so hot.

I finally got the barbecue scrubbed today, but that was about the sum total of my achievements. Somehow or other I got sucked into the laptop, and lost several hours of my life while looking at holidays.

We may be going to Tunisia, as that was the best deal I came up with, and the Dyson man was pretty impressed with the apparent luxury of the hotels compared with similarly priced holidays in the Med. We are usually self-caterers, and our accommodation is usually basic in the extreme, but we may be ready for a little touch of luxury.

Still got a few options to check out though, so it's not decided yet. What really annoys me is that I would love to stay in Scotland and visit some of our own islands, but it would cost us at least twice as much as going abroad. And when the weather is so vicarious, why would you want to pay double to take the risk?
