Unbelievable.....

Today I have had a capsular endoscopy.

I won't trouble you with the various rumblings and gurglings that go on in my intestines, buy the good news is all the really nasty things have been ruled out over time.

Today's investigation was to see if there is anything else to treat.

It has been a totally painless, simple and convenient way to be "investigated"

At 8.30 this morning I swallowed this amazing gadget just like taking a pill.

It is a camera with a light on it. How do they make something that clever and that small? Unbelievable.

For the following 8 hours it took a colour photo every half a second as it moved through my small intestine.

The images were transmitted to a pack I wore on my waist, and at 5.30 I took the pack back.

The nurse even showed me how I could view the images in real time, but asked me not to watch it all day because it would flatten the battery.

I now just wait for the results so we can discuss what to do next.

The camera will, in the words of the nurse, "be naturally eliminated".
