Lavender de-stemmed. A messy but fragrant and satisfying job. My hands smell wonderful. I took prettier pictures but in the end preferred this one with my laptop and the pile of mail and all the mess of a work table. This evening we put bark mulch around the unhappy cypress trees, hopefully it'll perk them up a bit.

While I worked I listened to Fresh Air on NPR, Terry Gross was interviewing Sabrina Tavernise who was one of the first journalists to reach the site of the Malaysia Airlines plane that was shot down in Ukraine, it was an excellent and haunting interview.


A high of 82ºF/28ºC, and the evening is cooling off nicely.
