Getting Ready to Show

Another county fair today. This time...the Shiawassee County Fair, in Corunna, Michigan. I used to go there as a kid. Maybe when I was 12, 13, 14. Good memories.

Merrick went with us. This was his 3rd time, and I'm proud to say...this time he was REALLY into the animals. But...he's also into the rides. He was SO proud that he went over the 42 inch mark, which allows him onto a few more rides. Big kid rides...which translates into fast and twisting.

But...who was going to ride with him? Not me...not with my ride history. So...Grandma it was, while I tried not to laugh. Oh my.

The first 2 pictures on the Flickr page are of an artist who used to live on my mail route. I picked up the newspaper last night, and read that he was doing a giant railroad mural in a local city. The city was on our way.

What a project! What a vision! What talent! I think he is only using 6 colors, and he thinks he is going to be done in another week. It was REAL hard not to blip it, but maybe I'll go back, and get the finished painting.
