The Destination is in Sight

I've never had a particularly good sense of direction. I think it's because I grew up in New England where the streets are not laid out in grids. Growing up in the Boston area, it was impossible to go "around the block". I learned in later years that the streets are parallel to the Charles River. (?) Well, Manchester is no different. I went for a walk at lunch time today, camera in hand, getting my 30 minutes of cardio and hoping to catch a photo. A man was being arrested right outside the building I work in, but it didn't seem to be a good time to start taking pictures. I went down a couple of blocks, over a couple more and next thing you know, there were no options for going straight back. I could see the building, but how to get there? Dead end streets and ones that just ended. I did make it back and still had time to retrieve my ATM card from the bank where I left it in the machine last evening too!
