Red desks, Bluewater

Took an after work trip to Bluewater shopping centre with my daughter. The mission: to buy a gift for her boss's 40th birthday, with the kitty from a collection amongst her workmates. They decided on an engraved pen, and we had fun at the Webster's specialist pen shop trying out a variety of Parker, Sheaffer, Waterman and Cross writing implements, before she decided on an elegant fountain pen and roller-ball set.

The shop staff were endlessly patient and accommodating, and asked us to come back in half an hour or so while they engraved the pens and gift-wrapped them. So we went to supper at Yo Sushi.

As a confirmed colour junkie, it was a toss up whether I blipped the vibrancy of the Yo conveyor belt and multi-coloured dishes, or the bright interior of the pen shop. This fabulous collection of writing desks won the day.
