Beach Babe

We woke up bright and early this morning thanks to a screaming baby a few tents over. So there was time for a few bacon sandwiches and a few bowls of cocoa pops before heading off to the beach for a day with Mrs L, Mr B, Miss M and Mr T.
They have a beach hut at Mudeford near Christchurch and it's just fantastic!
We met them at the café at Hengistbury Head and after a lot of faffing to pay for our parking, ice cream buying, tea drinking and spade buying we got on the land train which takes you the mile or so to the beach huts on the sand spit which forms the entrance to Christchurch harbour.
Their beach hut is in one of the best spots possible - the quieter end of the beach with no other hut behind it so they've got a seaview one side and a view of the nature reserve lagoon behind. Fabulous!
The cousins had fun on the beach - digging, building sandcastles, paddling, being buried, shell collecting, kite flying (well attempted kite flying!), playing a hilarious version of fruit and vegetable Pictionary in the sand, sunbathing and cartwheeling.
Mr B did a sterling job with the sausages and burgers for lunch and we had a wander up to the shop in the afternoon for some more ice creams.
What a perfect day at the seaside.
We left at about6.30pm - making sure we didn't miss the last train back to the car as the idea of walking that far with tired children and our assortment of towels, buckets and spades was unappealing!
Back at the campsite the Little Misses frantically looked for things to buy in the shop with their marble money and then they had a fun half hour in the adventure playground. Doing that wonderful thing that children do - making friends immediately and having adventures together.
They fell asleep very quickly unsurprisingly leaving Mr K and I in peace to eat our chocolate and watch episode two of Breaking Bad

Backblips start here of our holiday so far.
