North Devon Show

Had a very enjoyable day today. Went to the North Devon Show with the folks who are doing a magnificent job raising funds for the Chemotherapy Appeal in north Devon. We got there early and set up the stall... the fields were muddy due to the overnight fall of rain but luckily we were able to park just outside the tent where the stall was. This huge Teddy, called Bertie, was donated to be raffled off - one had to guess his weight.... and large as he was he only weighed around 4.6 kg (I don't know the exact figure but think it was mooted to be around this). Bertie raised over £60 and I do hope he goes to a happy home.
We were also raffling off a Kia Picanto so for the price of £1.00 some lucky punter will drive away with a brand new car when the raffle is drawn. This will be when the new chemo unit is opened next March. £2 million pounds already raised and 200k needed so home run! Building began and all looks great.
Fantastic that folks will be able to have their Chemo in N Devon in a wonderful new airy unit.
