Mile Stone

There are really not enough of these about the place nowadays.

I remember family holidays in the 60's when I would have the OS map and would look out for them on the quiet roads of the North of Scotland. Perhaps that is the cause to this day of my travel sickness!!

This one on the old road between Lerwick and Sumburgh with L for Lerwick and G for Grutness which would have be the furthest south public road in days of yore.
