Tortoiseshell

A pair of these were feeding on the weeds wild flowers growing out of the front garden wall this afternoon.

I'd just got back from the dentist (3rd and, happily, final visit in the last 3 weeks) and was supervising admiring Tess sanding down the porch ready for painting, when I spotted them.

Having reached the 3 year mark I'd suggested to Tess that I wasn't going to blip every day from now on but, when an opportunity comes your way like this, you can't pass it up, can you?
