Meet My New Best Friend...

In yesterday's blip I mentioned that today I was going to defrost our freezer....

Well 'defrost' is somewhat of an undersatement - it had a layer on the inside that would have rivalled anything found in the last ice age.

Anyway, I bought this little gadget at the weekend (in the Homebase 15% off event). A new steamer to replace the little handheld one that died recently. This one is capable of stripping wallpaper and so generates a huge amount of steam. With the little nozzle on the end it was soon slicing through the ice - one tank of water and 45 minutes later it was all clear.

Whilst I was cutting away I found a pack of sausages entombed in the roof and they had started to soften a little by the time I got them out. Well it says use by September 15th but does not say which year. They looked ok - no freezer burn - so they are in the cooker for my lunch...

So if my journal suddenly stops after today you know why....
