Call me Ansel
Whilst in Bodega (after a rather grim plastic hotel breakfast) we decided to visit the church we'd seen at the Ansel Adams exhibition yesterday and spent a happy half hour trying to copy his photograph of it (despite rather different weather - he had bright sunshine!). Had put his and mine together to post today but can't get it to work unfortunately....Set off down Highway 1 and stopped for a foray along the beach at one point despite being cool and cloudy....lots of seagulls resting on the sand and tiny crabs washed up along the tide line.
Didn't manage to escape the cloud until over the Golden Gate Bridge, but enjoyed BBQ-ed oysters in a little shack overlooking the water despite that. After getting back into the sun in SF decided to make a detour to Half Moon Bay which people have told me about in glowing terms, but when we turned off the highway towards the coast the cloud returned immediately and it wasn't what we expected at all...just a little town inland like many others and nothing at the beach except a car park.
Managed to avoid the traffic (again!) and got to L's in time to make dinner and do our washing etc...ready for the next bit of the adventure!
