Lest we forget.
A very moving ceremony at the Tower of London this evening.
I decided to go into London to see the display of ceramic poppies along the wall and the old moat of the Tower, symbolising some of the many British and Commonwealth soldiers who died in WW1.
I then found out that at 2110 there was going to be a 21 gun salute, between each of which the names of 180 of those soldiers would be read out followed by a display on the wall depicting some of the scenes from the war and then ending with the Last Post.
The young lady standing next to me said that her great grandfather's name, Private Welburn Chapman, was one of those to be read out.
Well worth a visit if you're in the area. The poppy display will be added to daily until November 11th.
