Detail from Eleanor Rigby statue

I love this. It's the 'Liverpool Echo' newspaper detail from Tommy Steele's 'Eleanor Rigby' statue on Stanley Street. You can get an overview of the piece here http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eleanor_Rigby_(statue) The newspaper had a piece of bread and a sparrow on it, but more intriguing are the two headlines contained within 'Kop calls up for Shanks' and 'Beatles split'. The statue was created in 1982, a year after Bill Shankly's death and well over a decade after the Beatles split up!
