Heading home
Here's the old girl, on her way home, following her city ventures.
It seems strange and exciting heading home after almost 2 weeks in Glasgow.
It's felt long at times but it's also gone so quickly....an experience that was equally as exciting as exhausting. I stayed with 2 amazingly kind hearted people, in a beautiful apartment in the trendiest part of the city. I couldn't have asked for most generous hosts and more lovely accommodation.
Taking my bike was a bit of a hassle but I'm glad I did as it helped me explore Glasgow and push me out of my comfort zone - my first proper cycling experience being that of negotiating very busy roads of a city unknown to me.
Thankfully my naïveté of being a city cyclist lessened & by the time today arrived, I was well versed with confidence of leaving my bike and locking it promptly.
My trip home was also slightly more relaxing too as my new found boldness allowed me to claim the entitled storage area that I was too polite to demand on my outbound journey.
Alex met me at the platform and helped me navigate the station, whilst I described my humorous sideways tumble earlier that saw me trapped beneath a weighty 60 years old steel framed bike, my heavy bag still affixed to my back with my legs and arms waving in the air like an upturned turtle, whilst I just lay there helplessly laughing at myself...!
