We have a week away in Northumberland, staying in the Kielder area. We came across these barn conversions called Falstone barns, which whilst a little pricey we decided that we would treat ourselves (partly through an inheritance) and stay somewhere nice. It is very nice indeed, and this room is actually Oliver's room. Not perhaps the first choice of a nearly seven year old boy, but the huge bed has been a winner.

We went up to the Kielder Observatory, unfortunately the weather got the better of us, and following on from a 6~7 hour car journey wasn't the best for getting Oliver to stay awake for it either. Ho hum. Hopefully through the week we will get some clear skies and have an opportunity to see some stunning stars in this dark sky area.
