Naked Bus

After my class from 12-3pm today Blythe and I stopped at the grocery store for some snacks and travel toiletries. We were excited for our trip!

I packed quite quickly and managed to get a few games of Wii tennis in before leaving the house. Aman drove us to the bus stop in Albany around 6:15. We took that bus into center Auckland and then almost got lost trying to find the stop our coach bus would be picking us up at. We expected a small store or booth where the bus would pick up but it was just a stop. Anyway we were in the right place and one of the first few to get on the bus allowing us to take the seat in front of the emergency exit with a railing to put our feet up (sweet). The bus was called the "Naked Bus". Not sure why.

The bus was en route a little after 8 with 4-5 stops and one half hour rest stop until Taupō. The drive wasn't bad and the seats were pretty comfy.

We got into Taupō around 1 am. Fortunately, our hostel was only a 5 minute walk. The town was quiet at that hour but you could hear some noise from the street over with the strip of bars. Tired and wanting to get up early for activities tomorrow, we called it a night.

We got our own four person room with no roommates so we both got a bottom bunk. The Urban Retreat was not too shabby.
