In My World

By JoanneInOz

Unchanged.

Lately I've spent a lot of time on the phone, and typing letters, and generally organising things, some of a business nature and some personal (like the party for my son's 17th birthday on the weekend).

When I came up for air this afternoon (lunch at 3:30 pm, way too late!) there were the Rainbow Lorikeets, waiting out in the garden for their dinner. A familiar flock of them flew down to the feeding table as I walked out with their feed at 4 o'clock, and my heart did a small "happy dance" at the sight of them all.

It's comforting to know that while I'm feeling weighted down with urgent matters, the birds remain carefree. They are so totally unconcerned by the ways of the world. All they ask for is some food, water, companionship, and a little bit of shelter.

And in exchange for the food I feed them, I am rewarded with a lovely closeup photo. This unchanged simplicity makes me smile. I hope you are smiling too. :)
