Fish and chips on the beach...
Started with delicious brunch in Calistoga then on to Mumm's winery to sample various fizzes...delicious and beautiful place, with amazing Ansel Adams exhibition too. Drove on to Sonoma and looked around the old fort (newer than my flat in Edinburgh!) and some shops and generally soaked up the atmosphere.
Had a drink with M&H before they left to go home then set off to Bodega Bay. Driving through the area it was really noticeably different from Napa-we've seen some real changes of scenery (and temperature!) on this trip.
Bodega Bay rather disappointing when we arrived....nothing like what we expected. Looked more like Morecambe Bay on a cloudy cool day, and the hotel with 'fast wifi' had none at all in our room....rubbish! We were so cold-such a shock after so many days of strong sunshine and heat (including this morning!)
We went out to try and find somewhere to eat and looked at various fairly posh places but in the end went to this little shack (The Boat House) which was packed out. Had delicious clam chowder, then fish and chips and started to feel much better. I tried to work up a vision for the plan.....
Then back to the hotel and K worked on the journal whilst I dozed and tried to find something decent on the TV...no chance!
