The Party Is Over

Today had a down beat feel to it. The Commonwealth Games is over and the party atmosphere has been replaced by a more sombre one commemorating the centenary of Britain entering the First World War - reflections which are particularly poignant given the violent conflicts of one sort or another in various parts of the world right now. The weather seemed to feel it too and provided a cool stiff breeze for much of the day.
