Lights out

100 years ago the lights went out across Europe. Tonight lone candles burn for the fallen.

I'm grateful for the fellowship of my international group of wonderful friends and for my comfortable life. I remember with gratitude those who had a much harder life than my own.

I attended a low key service at St. Paul's Cathedral today and now watching the very moving service at Westminster Abbey.

I shall sleep thinking of sons, brothers, fathers and husbands who didn't return and all the courageous women who did more than a 'bit'.
