La gouffre de Padirac

This really doesn't convey the sheer breath and depth of this enormous chasm just off the road through Padirac. After clambering down the stairs here you walk for a few hundred metres, then get punted a mile or so along an underground river before wandering through an enormous cave system. I'm glad some speleologists opened it all up a century ago - I much prefer the civilised exploration technique!
