My grandfather

Lots of things going on around the country today as a reminder of the start of World War 1. This scroll hangs in my hall with a photo and reminds me everyday of the grandfather I never knew.
He left a two year old daughter and a six week old daughter (my mother) to be brought up by a young war widow.
