Kadooment

Today is the Island's street carnival - a procession of floats carrying vary loud speakers and followed by hundreds of locals dressed in their dance gear. It's the culmination of the crop gathering celebrations (not that there's much of that nowadays). There's also lots of very rude dancing that wouldn't be shown on the BBC....
We've been before but I think we chose the wrong location to watch today. It was stiflingly hot and very little room to move. My crop of photos isn't what I wanted, but this is a great portrait of one of the revellers.
