We will remember them...
This is my candle ready to be lit between 10pm and 11pm tonight to commemorate the darkness that fell on Europe as war was declared 100 years ago today.
We must always remember the suffering and bravery of so many in WW1 and must continue to pray for peace in our time around the world.
We have a four hour vigil at church tonight. I have the slot at 10pm and am planning to read Wilfred Owen's poem "Strange Meeting" along with some prayers. That poem is one of the most powerful anti-war poems I have ever read so I hope I can do it justice tonight. For victims of war everywhere.
