MonoMonday # 22 - Motion .......

....... and it just had to be Shadow Dancer retrieving a ball in the garden, this morning, at 06.35.

Sombre memories today - 100 years since the start of WW1 ...... 4th August 1914 ...

We should remember all those (from every country) who died or were injured - both at home and away on the fields of battle.

They went with songs to the battle, they were young.
Straight of limb, true of eye, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted,
They fell with their faces to the foe.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.


Lest we forget.


Both my grandfathers, my father and my husband have been involved in various conflicts between 1914 and 1991 - all, thankfully, survived - I am one of the lucky ones.
