Smoke free

This is taken during a tractor pull at the Chemung County Fair, Horseheads, New York last night. The particular tractor runs on some kind of alcohol rather than gasoline. It is very very loud (if you look you can see a bystander with his fingers in his ears) but does not let off the thick black smoke that the "regular" tractors do. I'm not sure if this is better for the environment or just helps the tractor perform better.

Before the fair we spent a few hours at a picnic hosted by one of Mr M's co-workers. They always roast some beef over an open fire for several hours before the affair, and it turns out very tender and tasty. There was a lively game of horseshoes underway when we left. It was a very nice afternoon.
