when i thought - they only came out at night...

i was chasing butterflies - when i was alerted to the appearance of this fellow - approaching by a flurry of calls - by nearby birds - they were nervous - irritated that a predator - was in their midst - i, on the other hand - was thrilled - at the potential opportunity - of a photo - however - you can tell by the look on his face - he was none too happy with me - i think he was trying to - negotiate this turn of events with me - but when you're out and about - in nature - these are the chances you take - for me - i think i was fortunate - he didn't decide to jump me - for that, i'm grateful - relieved and clearly aware it's made for...
