Seriously Maier Selfie

We went on our bikes this morning through the local woods and came back via the EPSLV. Busy afternoon was followed sorting out our garage: sold two bikes to the neighbouring kids, ruthlessly binned/gave away toys no longer used and bagged a load of shoes/clothes ready for cash4clothes.

Today also saw the end of the Glasgow Commonwealth Games, and didn't we do well! Certainly makes a change from the disappointing World Cup effort recently. And what a great show it was...... but gutted there was no Proclaimers, Big Country, Midge Ure..... and even more gutted Lulu performed!

As for the blip, I was looking for ideas and what better way to it with a bit of Vivian Maier inspiration. This selfie pose is typical of her efforts during her life of photos (minus the German top of course!), which often involved shooting her reflection off a shop window on a sunny day. Considering she did this mainly with a Rolleiflex, not a mobile/camera with "live view" is pretty damn impressive: it took me ten attempts to get this shot right! There is a new film about her, which I would love to see.
