Appledore Regatta 2014 Final Day

today was the last day of the Appledore / Instow Regatta. The weather held and there was some sunshine. Lot of fun had by participants and watchers as the various boats competed, the rowers competed and the gigs competed. Instow had a dog show and a sand castle competition. Only downside was that after going to Appledore from Instow on the lovely little ferry, the blooming buses were not running into Appledore (too busy they said) and we had to walk, bearing in mind we'd been walking around most of the day, (and I don't 'do' walking with my hips and knees!) up the hill to a bus stop way outside the village. Lunch in Bideford made up for it though - or was it the beer? Whatever, it was delicious!
